Sex Workers as Consultants – YAS Veterans Hub
Sex workers have always been consultants, even if that labor hasn’t been named or respected as such.
Through navigating consent, boundaries, safety, negotiation, emotional labor, privacy, and power, sex workers develop expertise that many organizations actively seek but rarely recognize as professional knowledge. This hub centers that lived expertise and explores how sex workers consult across industries, movements, and community spaces.
The YAS Veterans Hub is a growing library of writing, analysis, and real-world examples that highlight sex workers as strategists, educators, facilitators, and advisors. Rather than asking sex workers to translate their work into palatable narratives, we name consulting as it already exists: skilled, ethical, and grounded in survival, care, and autonomy.
These posts are written for organizations, advocates, researchers, and community members who want to learn from sex workers, not extract from them. Each piece connects specific consulting practices to broader systems, offering insight into what sex worker-led consulting actually looks like in practice.
This hub will continue to grow over time, reflecting the depth and diversity of sex worker knowledge and the many ways it shows up in consulting work.

Intimacy Coaching And Why Productions Actually Need It
If you’ve ever watched a film or TV show and thought, “that felt real” (or… very much not), there’s a good chance intimacy coaching had something to do with it. Intimacy coaching is still a relatively new role in mainstream media, but in reality, it fills a gap that...
