What for?
Running an event, an in person project involving pole dancing, producing any filmography, wanting to give back to sex workers… when entering into these ventures, it’s best to talk to an expert to gain insight on how best to proceed and not harm sex workers in the process. Let’s avoid that for sure.
Why though?
Because all too often, strippers and sex workers are depicted in film projects without the input of the experts themselves. Specifically, when it comes to pole dancing in general, there tends to be a lack of respect for the history, for the people who invented pole dancing.
Okay, when?
It depends… working on a film, you may want to hire a YAS Veteran on for the duration of the project. Producing an event? You should consult with an expert at the very beginning, and probably a couple more times during planning. Contact us, tell us what you’re working on.
